Overhead Water Tank Dismantling

Location: Hyderabad

Scope: Overhead Water Tank Dismantling, RCC Tank Slab Breaking, Column Dismantling, Heavy Debris Removal, and Final Site Clearance

We at MALIK TRADING AND DEMOLITION successfully completed the overhead water tank demolition work in Hyderabad. The project involved dismantling an elevated RCC structure in a congested area with accumulated debris, requiring controlled machine execution and proper site handling.

Initial Assessment and Site Preparation
The work started with inspection of the RCC tank, columns, and surrounding conditions. Due to uneven ground and debris accumulation, access planning and safe machine positioning were critical before starting operations. Work zones were maintained based on site conditions for controlled execution.

Ground Obstruction Clearance
The site had scattered demolition waste and uneven ground conditions. Clearance of debris was carried out to create workable access for machinery and safe movement across the area.

Top Structure Dismantling
The overhead tank slab and upper structure were dismantled using a rock breaker. Controlled breaking methods were followed to maintain structural balance and avoid uncontrolled collapse. Step-by-step breaking was carried out to ensure stability.

Column Dismantling and Structural Removal
RCC columns and staging supports were dismantled in a proper sequence using machinery, ensuring stability throughout the demolition process. Sequential dismantling was followed to avoid sudden structural failure.

Heavy Debris Handling and Scrap Clearance
Large quantities of concrete debris, mixed scrap, and dismantled materials were present on site. Systematic shifting, segregation, and removal were carried out to maintain a continuous workflow. Debris was cleared regularly to keep the working area accessible.

Execution in Congested Area
Due to limited space and debris-filled ground, machine movement was carefully managed to avoid operational risks and ensure controlled execution. Equipment movement was handled based on available working space and ground conditions.

Safety Methods Followed
Controlled machine execution, proper excavator positioning on uneven ground, and step-by-step dismantling of slabs and columns were maintained throughout the work. Continuous debris clearance helped maintain safe and clear working access.

Dust Control
Dust generated during slab breaking and debris handling was controlled by regular water sprinkling on the structure and ground to reduce dust spread and maintain clear working conditions.

Project Completion
The demolition was completed in a planned, step-by-step manner with controlled execution. The site was cleared and handed over in a clean and stable condition.
