MALIK TRADING AND DEMOLITION successfully completed an Internal Plant Dismantling Project at the CRM (Cold Rolling Mill) Operational Plant of Tata Steel, Meramandali, OORISA, utilizing advanced dismantling techniques, certified rigging equipment, EOT crane lifting operations, hydraulic tools, gas cutting equipment, and experienced industrial dismantling professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and systematic removal of heavy industrial machinery.
The project involved dismantling and removal of heavy fabricated machine assemblies, hydraulic power units, process equipment, steel structures, machine frames, support platforms, hydraulic pipelines, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, structural components, and associated industrial infrastructure. Since the dismantling work was executed inside an operational steel plant, every activity was carefully planned to minimize disruption to surrounding production areas while maintaining the highest level of operational safety.
Site Inspection and Work Preparation
Before commencing dismantling activities, we conducted a comprehensive engineering survey to evaluate equipment weight, structural stability, lifting points, crane capacity, equipment accessibility, utility isolation requirements, and safe dismantling procedures.
Our engineering team developed a detailed dismantling methodology and lifting sequence to ensure the controlled removal of each machine component. Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment (RA), Permit to Work (PTW), and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures were implemented before dismantling activities commenced to establish a safe working environment.
Controlled Internal Plant Dismantling Process
We executed the dismantling process using a systematic sequence to safely remove interconnected machine assemblies while maintaining structural integrity throughout the operation. Mechanical equipment, hydraulic systems, steel structures, process pipelines, and fabricated components were dismantled progressively using controlled dismantling methods.
Heavy machine assemblies were disconnected, dismantled, and safely lowered using the plant’s Electric Overhead Travelling (EOT) Crane, certified wire rope slings, chain slings, D-shackles, lifting beams, and approved rigging accessories. Every suspended load was handled according to approved lifting procedures to ensure complete operational safety.
Heavy Lifting and Rigging Operations
The dismantling project required precision lifting of large fabricated steel components and heavy industrial equipment installed within confined working areas. Our experienced rigging team carefully identified lifting points, calculated load distribution, inspected lifting accessories, and executed balanced lifting operations using certified rigging equipment.
Controlled crane operations enabled the safe lowering, shifting, and placement of dismantled equipment without affecting nearby operational machinery. Continuous coordination between crane operators, riggers, supervisors, and safety personnel ensured efficient execution throughout every lifting activity.
Mechanical Equipment Removal
The project included dismantling hydraulic power units, process machinery, machine frames, structural supports, steel platforms, hydraulic pipelines, and interconnected mechanical systems. We isolated electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic connections before dismantling each assembly, ensuring every component was safely removed in accordance with the approved dismantling methodology.
Large machine assemblies were dismantled at ground level after controlled lifting operations, allowing safe segregation, loading, transportation, and recycling of dismantled materials.
Material Recovery and Site Clearance
Throughout the dismantling project, structural steel, machinery components, hydraulic equipment, electrical systems, pipelines, fabricated steel sections, and recyclable materials were systematically segregated and removed from active work areas.
Material handling and site clearance activities were carried out simultaneously with dismantling operations to maintain uninterrupted workflow, improve equipment accessibility, and ensure clean, organized, and safe working conditions inside the plant.
